Gattuso: ‘Italy see no difference between Wales and Bosnia, Dzeko is a great man’
Italy head coach Gennaro Gattuso has insisted that his team will not underestimate either Wales or Bosnia as they prepare for their upcoming international fixtures.
Speaking ahead of the matches, Gattuso said Italy are treating both opponents with the same level of respect and focus.
“We see no difference between Wales and Bosnia,” Gattuso said. “Both teams can cause problems if you are not fully prepared.”
The Italian coach stressed that his players must remain concentrated and avoid thinking that one match will be easier than the other. He believes international football has become far more competitive, with smaller nations capable of causing surprises against top teams.
Gattuso also had special praise for Bosnia captain Edin Dzeko, describing the veteran striker as “a great man” both on and off the pitch.
“He is not only a great player, but also a great man,” Gattuso said about Dzeko. “He has shown quality for many years and continues to be important for his country.”
Dzeko remains one of Bosnia’s most experienced players and is still seen as the team’s biggest attacking threat despite being in the later stages of his career.
Italy are expected to rely on their strong defensive structure and disciplined approach, while Bosnia will hope Dzeko’s experience can help inspire the team against one of Europe’s strongest sides.
Gattuso’s comments suggest Italy are taking the matches seriously and are determined to avoid any complacency as they continue their preparations for the future.
