David Beckham has defended Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Liverpool defender was not called up to the England national team.

“I’m a Massive Fan of Him”

Beckham said he does not understand the criticism around Trent and made it clear that he is a big admirer of the player.

He said: “I’ve heard so many times about, ‘He’s not as good at defending as he is attacking’. Well, sometimes you have to accept that.”

Believes He Should Still Be in the Squad

The former England captain also admitted that, if it was his decision, he would find it very difficult to leave a player like Alexander-Arnold out of the national team.

He added: “I’d find it very hard not to take someone like Trent. I’m a massive fan of him, I love him as a player.”

Debate Around His England Future Continues

The comments come as the debate continues around Trent’s role in the England national team, with many fans and former players sharing different opinions about whether he should be a regular starter.
